Ocracoke Island on September 6, 2019 around 9am was not the place you wanted to be. That was the moment that the tiny island was introduced to a monster named Dorian. Less than week earlier the storm had become the worst natural disaster in the history of the Bahamas. It was the fourth named storm, second hurricane, and the first major hurricane of the 2019 Atlantic hurricane season. Dorian roared in, created havoc, but did not break Ocracoke’s spirit.
